5:35 and the 8 Hims (Delorean, OT, Waterboy, Lump, Lookout, Shoota, The Hackface and yours truly) that decided to ACCELERATE with some pre-party ruck and run options wind down from their efforts. This is about the time that we all see Lookout's "shorts" as the sun crests over the hills just enough to illuminate those commitments to America. We all decided that with the length of those shorts we have two things to talk about. One, when is Bartman going to be back to challenge the amount of thigh that is on display. Two, are we going to make it the 45 min without his twig and berries falling out. As the MC grew so did the numbers. Cars kept rolling in and Import came in with a minute to spare (felt early for him). I get ready for the beating I'm going to take, as I have advertised that this is my 1 yr anniversary to joining F3 Franklin. 5:45 and away we go.
Warm-o-rama:
10 Burpees for Flava, because he forgot his gloves in the truck and I'm just the jerk to make him pay for it. Side Straddle Hops IC, Willie Mays Hayes, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers, Backs and Back Backs IC.
Mosey up the hill to get the blood moving. You're right OT we should do 10 Burpees. Back to mosey and OT slips in "my legs are toast today. I've got no pop in them". I would be right there with him, but I'm running on Q power. Things don't hurt and stuff gets done with the power of Q. You're right voice in my head, we should do 10 more Burpees. Delorean decides this is a partner excersise and gets aggressively close. Back to mosey and spread out on the line of the back parking lot. Get ready for the Thang. The Thang: My first workout was Q'd by our man Lump and a Dora on the Basketball courts was a big portion of the workout. I love Dora's and there is no better place than Firepit for one. Let's get a Dora 365 in honor of my 1 yr. Partner up, make mention of the partner policy of choosing a partner that gives the group the best workout (fast with slow, medium with medium). 3 excercises Burpees (65), Jump Squats (100), Hand Release Merkins (200) and we are rolling. One person works while the other runs the length of the parking lot and back. Things are going great and the MC is picking up until the Hand Release Merkins. MC completely fades away to nothing but grunts, groans and the mumbling of reps to the partner at switch times. Damn those were a beast, make a note for the future. Off to the grass hill next to the playground. On our way we got 20 squats, because we can. Line up and inform the group of the playlist. Ignore the grumbles of mud and grass and lets get a Bear Crawl up the hill with every (10) steps giving us a chance for (5) Carolina Dry Docks. Once up the hill lets get some Crab Walks back. Next round is Crawl Bears up the hill and Polititions back down. Finish up and we are off to the back parking lot for sprints and lunges. Sprint the length, lunge the end. Ran out of time for more than 1 1/2 laps and we mosey back to the begining. This is where we get some Mary. Now I have a favorite Mary (Captain Thor's) and have been recently accused of trying to name everthing the Wilson, but this one isn't mine. Our man Shoota has been rocking the Captain Thor's for some time and in honor of him lets get it done. We get all 10 rounds in with us just a little after the bell.
Moleskin: 1 year of F3 and it seems like I just started with how excited I get. This group is such an important part of my life. They have impacted me in ways that I never thought and I have impacted others just the same. My first workout saw me rocking a "bio-ruck" of 40 lbs more than where I sit here typing. That is because of the work that I do here. That 40 lbs is just the start though. The fellowship and commradery gets me excited about the work and pushes me through the gloom. The accountability of the group and my shieldlock keeps me true to my word. The faith in myself and the group lifts me when I'm down. These things are not just found at a gym or with a workout. They are the manifestation of seeing oneself through the eyes of HIM's that enter the gloom with you and exit together making sure to pick up the six. F3 Franklin has brought me exactly what OT and Scud told me when they EH'd me. Yet, I can't help but feel that it has brought me so much more than that. I thank each and every one of you that has been there along my journey this past year and look forward to what you'll bring for me going forward. I aint going nowhere, you're stuck with me now! Respectfully, Wilson
