Pax: HouseArrest, Delorean, Bartman, Hackface, Clickbait (QiC)
The Pax arrived on a rainy and somewhat chilly morning. The forecast was not showing positive conditions for a comfortable run. Delorean attempted to compensate for the conditions by wearing enough clothes to survive a winter-apocalypse. Bartman dressed like he was going for a run on the beach, I think just to challenge the rain to continue. And our brother, HouseArrest, approached the start of the run with a brisk 3-mile “warm-up”.
All headed out with 5 miles to burn on their mind, but mumble chatter of pre-vac should the rain persist.
The Pax pace range varied throughout, but mostly staying between 8”00 and 9”00. Average mile for the front was 8”19, and the Six was a solid 9”00.
By mile 3, the rain was a distant memory and things started to heat-up. Thus, Delorean conducted a mid-run wardrobe change, while Bartman looked on with an expression of “I told you so”.
We only encountered 1 close-call drive-by (a texting driver), but HouseArrest protected the group by offering himself as a sacrifice.
All were in their stride and feeling good by the time we passed the Jimmy (AO), and a few choice words were spoken when zooming past Gig’em’s house (all positive shout-outs, brother!).
Hackface loved the downhill in the last mile and pushed the front to move along.
The full group completed by 6:16AM. A suggestion of adding a 6th mile moving forward was met with swift and clear rejection by the group.
Moleskin:
· Strong work this morning, men.
· There are many conditions in life that we can’t control (like the weather), but we CAN control how we respond.
· This group of men inspires me to do better, in all aspects of life. Thank you for lifting me up, even if you don’t realize you are, simply by your actions and reactions to the conditions of life.
· Thoughts and love go out to lift up Spicoli and Shoota to bring them the healing they need. Peace has found Bartman’s Grandmother and we are thankful for her relief from pain. May she rest easy now.
