Partner up ... choose wisely

Pax: 16 Total - The Hackface, Shoota, Oregon Trail, DeLorean, Maytag, Atari, Chunks, Hoser, Wilson, Dukey, Braddock, Cornholio, Noble Virus, Yoda, Jingle, Licker (QiC)

Pre-Party: Oregon Trail, Shoota and The Hackface were working hard when I rolled up. One of these days I need to join the pre-party (or not).


This was my VQ and I was excited to step into the leadership role for the day. As I arrived, the pre-party was well underway, so I stayed in my truck (so as not to disturb them). As other PAX rolled in, we congregated and got ready to go. My intent was to drop in some hints of how I got my F3 name, and I told the PAX as such. I wore a Hoosiers sweatshirt, I used a 33 count on a few exercises ... (it didn't go much farther than that).

- 33 Side Straddle Hops IC

- 10 Slow Ass Merkins IC

- 21 Imperial Walkers IC

- Backs OYO , Back Backs OYO

- 10 Burpies OYO

- 10 Good Mornings (yes, 10) OYO

- 10 Willie Mays Hayes OYO

Let's Mosey ... we ran to the hill between Field 5 and the road and did a quick set of 10 Politicians up the hill (run down) ... with Al Gore's for those who finished early. From there, another mosey to the Tennis Courts to start The Thang.


The Thang

Get a partner (choose wisely). We had an even number so everyone had a partner.


We started in the center of the courts and did 10 Burpies each. When complete, each partner ran to the end sideline on his side of the courts and then back to the center, doing Al Gore's until "All In"


Next up, Partner Merkins, we did 20 Merkins with a hand clap in between each and then each partner did a bear crawl to the end sideline on his side and a bear crawl back to center, Planking in center until "All In"


We got a couple 10 counts for recovery ...


I realized that I need to work on my Vocal Stamina, as my voice cracked multiple times during cadence exercises. As someone noted, it was very Peter Brady-esque ... and as I finally get through puberty in the coming months, I expect it to go away. Anyway ...


Next up, Partner Big Boy Sit-ups, we did 30 Big Boy Sit-ups with a 'double high five' (high ten?) at the top of each rep. Upon completion, Crab Walk to end and back to center, flutter kicks until "All In"


Another 10 count for recovery ...


Finally, Partner Squats, 20 Squats with your partner on your back. This was a good leg workout for me (not because Shoota is overweight, but it did push me to the limit a bit). I'm guessing a few others were excited (or not) about having partnered up with a plus-size partner (not knowing what was in store). Anyway, lunge to end and back to center,


Let's Mosey ... we did a quick jaunt to the basketball courts and circled up. We started in plank position and all were to hold a plank position as we passed 5 Merkins around the circle. Next, we all did flutter kicks as 10 LBCs were passed around the circle.


Let's Mosey ... we headed to the "Maytag Hill" behind the shelter and tennis courts for some more Politicians (only 5 this time). Politicians up the hill and jog down, holding Al Gore's if finishing early.


Let's Mosey ... we ran over to the concrete steps at Field 1 and did 25 Dips. A few of the late arrivals got in there 25 while the early arrivals were blessed with an extra 25.


Let's Mosey ... back to where this all began. We circled up and finished the workout with some core exercises.

We wrapped with me telling the quick story of how I got my F3 name. I'm from Indiana, went to college in Terre Haute, Larry Bird went to college in Terre Haute, Larry is a famous French Lick resident, I'm now Licker.

- we discussed what is needed for those helping to clean up from the tornado devastation

- communicated the creation of the #community_outreach channel on Slack

- check here for current tornado support needs as well as future outreach opportunities

- Shoota on Q for workout at end of month (March 27th I think) specific to Mental Health

- Licker mentioned The Refuge Center for Counseling and an opportunity to help out this mental health supportive non-profit in the future (some physical work at the new property they purchased - cleaning up the land via weed-eating, mowing, burning, etc.)


- Prayer Requests:

- Shoota going under the knife on Friday ... keep him in your thoughts and prayers


- Prayer:

- We are blessed to come together and work on our physical strength, but we know that is only a small part of what is important. As Paul wrote in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who gives me strength". We look to Jesus for our true CORE Strength and lean on him for the inner strength to be leaders in our households (as husband and fathers), in our communities (as business and community leaders, as examples of faithful men) and in our churches (as Christians). We raise up the prayer requests shared and those that are unsaid, yet remain in our hearts. Amen.
