Date: November 16, 2019
AO: Armarda
19 Pax: Delorean (Pre-Party), Oregan Trail, Tuna, Macaroni, Bartman, The Hackface, Dukey, Shoota, Flava (FNG), Yoda, Kenny G, Blood Clot, Torch, Barney, Mulligan, Click Bait, Shania, Swingline and Wilson (Q#1)
Got there early to set up some cones (props make the Q says no one ever) and found 3 PAX crushing a second attempt at the "fittest" test. They were crushing it and I was pleased to see that some of them even bettered their time. After a steady round of congratulations to the afore mentioned and the standard level of mumble chatter we managed to get the PAX circled up for the Warm-O Rama (circle is pretty tight these days as the temperature is miserable). Reminded everyone that Memphis Ice Ninjas are a F3 Franklin requirement and that I am not a paid endorser of the product.
Warm-o-rama:
Side Straddle Hops IC, Forward Arm Circles (Small to Large) followed by Backward Arm Circles IC, Willie Mays Hayes, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers and some runners pose stolen from Dukey the day before. Finished with 10 Burpees to keep Blood Clot from leaving out of protest.
The Thang:
Let’s get a Mosey going to warm up the PAX before I bore them with numbers. What do my ears detect, but the complaints of one Shoota that was unpleasantly reminded that Franklin is cold and that he is not in Vegas anymore. Make our way back to the playground to grab some planter stones and get some real work done. Now comes the numbers, 11/16/19 is the date and I am one to covet all that is "Cheezy". 11 single leg squats (each leg), 16 Derkins and 19 dips, with the idea that if you finish before the rest you keep moving with Imperial Walkers or Side Straddle Hops until everyone is in. Rinse and repeat 3 times total before we move on to the next round of fun (may have heard some chatter about the random numbers, could be hearing things). The parking lot conveniently has cones set up at 50 yards and we can use that to our advantage. Partner up and let’s get some more work done. One PAX bear crawls 50 yards to the cone while the other works on the list of (100 Merkins, 100 Jump Lunges, 200 squats). When the first PAX hits the cone the other crawls the 50 yards to join him at the cones while he works. Man did I judge the time needed for this wrong, as we crushed it in half the time I thought. No problem, sprint the 50 yards and back and add 1 burpee per lap (total of 5 burpees). On to more cones and numbers as we head in for what I call the "Pick up The Six". Run the mile course at Armada with cones set up at 1/4-mile, 1/2-mile, 3/4 mile and the end. 1/4 mile get 14 hand release Merkins, 1/2 mile get 12 burpees, 3/4 mile get 34 jump squats and finish with 100 LBC's. If you finish before everyone else, go and "pick up the six" and finish with the PAX that are bringing in the "six". Time to spare, so we get some more 100-yard burpee sprints in. Time for some ab work, so we circle up and I throw it to the PAX for some requests. Torch throws out some Burpee up downs, Kenny G takes it easy on us with some LBC's. Now it's time for OT to bogart the Q and he calls for some Captain Thurkins (40) with 5 Merks each round. Left a moment for some stretch work from Master Yoda. We need it, people are stiff and some stretching is required. Count it out, name-o-rama and we get to name us a FNG. Flava gets the moniker as his first concert was Public Enemy.
Moleskin:
I am always glad to step up and lead. The fitness is needed by all of us, but the reason that most of us make our way out to a cold parking lot in the wee hours of the morning is the comradery that we receive from each other. The mumble chatter, the bad jokes and the motivation is something that you can't get many places in our world, but you can find it in abundance at every single F3 Franklin AO. Keep up the grind and pushing each other.
Later,
Wilson
