I was hopeful a little marketing might help bring out the masses. The promise of something new at F3 Franklin must be the trick! 28 PAX made it out on a perfectly good morning for self improvement! In the past leading a group of 10-12 men was an accomplishment, my last two at The Jimmy have been 32 and 28, that's incredible!!
Prior to warmup I told everyone to stretch their legs. Those that listened were probably grateful because today was going to be a leg day and they didn't even know it.
WoR:
20 SSHs in cadence
5 WMHs
5 Good mornings...wait is someone else coming? Yeah that's Zoolander, right on time.
Let's do some BACs while we wait....we get to 10 and Zoolander is still enjoying the comfy confines of his vehicle...lets mosey he will catch us!
The field trip begins. As we leave The Jimmy let's get a 10 merkins speed bump to keep the group together.
As we make the turn into the soccer fields there isn't much MC. As we approach the 30 foot hill...the MC instantly kicks in. I can sense the group's excitement! Alright gentlemen, its leg day. We're going to spend the next 20-25 minutes getting to know the mountain of pain!
Thang:
Triple Nickels to start - 5 incline merkins, politician up the hill, 5 decline merkins at the top of the hill, bear crawl down the hill. Rinse and repeat 5 times. When you are done sprint up the hill and back down until the 6 is in.
Now lets do some Everests - Lunge one step, complete a deep squat, lunge with other foot, complete squat....all the way up the hill until you get to the top. When you get to the top sprint across the field to the other side and back. Rinse and repeat.
Grab a partner now. Time for some Burp Back Mountains. One partner does burpees, while the other partner politicians up the hill and sprints down. Partner 1 must complete 5 "laps" of politicians and sprints then switch positions. Complete 100 burpees as a team. LBCs while we wait on the 6.
Hill work is done, lets mosey back. Speed bump #1 on the way back - mucho chest - 5 merkins, 5 werkins, 5 diamond merkins, 5 staggered right and 5 staggered left. No man left behind! Speed bump #2 on the way back - 20 jump ups on the stadium seating by the baseball fields, we start this thing together and we'll finish it together. Keep moseying. Approximately 125 yards from the flag we sprint it in.
Mary:
Circle up and get on your six! It's a Shoota Q so you know what happens now. Captain Thor in the house! 1 situp to 4 American hammers. Keep that ratio all the way through. 1:4, 2:8, 3:12. 4:16. 5:20....10 second count from OT.....6:24, 7:28, 8:32, 9:36, 10:40! I will admit, if you want to test your cadence ability as a Q, throw in some Captain Thors. I don't think there is anything more difficult than counting cadence on those American Hammers once you get to 32, 36 and 40. In addition to the abs burning like crazy, your lungs are squeezing every last breath just to get a number out. Growth men!
Moleskin:
It's always a pleasure to lead this group of outstanding men. 28 PAX, that is incredible. Keep finding ways to give it away and keep bringing in more. I appreciate everyone's willingness to take a field trip to do something new. I think it's important that we keep mixing it up and finding new ways to challenge everyone. Even us old guys need to find a new trick every now and then. Growth never stops and I'm grateful for each of you guys that constantly push me to be better.
