Even the Basics Matter!


Date: Friday, January 10th

PAX: Geek, Wilson, Macaroni, Hoser, Caulk N Walls, Import, 3 Putt, Braddock, Lump, OT, Hoser, Yoda, Chunks, Foosball, Delorean, Spicoli, Pre-K, Click Bait, Dukey and Licker.


Pre-Party - Rolled in at 5:25 ready for a music filled pre-party. Our ruckers hadn't made it back yet so at 5:30 Wilson, Geek and myself moseyed to the playground for an old fashioned pre-party event. Music turned up, 10 pullups, 15 WWII and 20 squats. Move fast, move often. Get in as many rounds as you can. 5:40 we mosey back to the parking lot to and see the ruckers have returned. Great work this morning men! Love the fact so many men are pushing themselves even before the workout begins.


WOR

20 SSHs in cadence

ATMs - 10 in cadence Alternating Shoulder Taps, 10 slow ass merkins (or Tempo Merkins so that Delorean can be satisfied in the acronym) and 10 regular merkins.

Get your Good Mornings in...followed by some WMHs.


Enough of this stretchy stuff...let's get to work! Mosey into the darkness to the other side of the school.


Line up on the curb. Once minute of toe taps in cadence...when Q yells down, complete 5 irkins on the curb. We do this for one minute. Turn around and get on the line. The fun is about to begin. Alligator merkins the length of the parking lot...that's right the whole way! One hand forward, merkin, other hand forward, merkin, other hand forward, merkin...you get the picture! Proved to be a beating, exactly what we needed to set the tone! MC began and would commence all morning, love it! Burpee Broad jump back to the other side of the parking lot.


This time 20 merkins, bear crawl halfway, 20 merkins, crawlbear to the end of the parking lot and finish with 20 more merkins.


Rinse and repeat


Next 20 WWIIs, crab walk halfway, 20 WWIIs, walk crab to the end, 20 WWIIs.


Rinse and Repeat


Next we do 20 squats, Gorilla Walkers (aka Canary's) halfway, 20 squats, gorilla walkers to the end and 20 squats.


Going back lets shake it up, 20 squats, duck walk halfway, 20 squats, duck walk the rest of the way.


While waiting on the six we rotated between Al Gore's, Modified Spicoli's (thanks to the man himself who pointed out that Spicoli's on the curb ARE NOT in fact Spicolis!) and squats.


I think there was more in there, but I can't seem to recall. Somehow we got to the other side of the parking lot again? Nonetheless....the work was put in!


Mosey to the school. Grab some wall. 10 Balls to the Wall, 20 donkey Kicks. Rinse and Repeat. Rinse and Repeat.


Mosey back to the Shovel Flag for mary. It's a Shoota Q so we all know how it ends, Captain Thors. 1:4 ratio of WWII to American Hammers. 2:4, 3:12.....10:40! Finished at exactly 6:30. Nice work gentlemen.


Moleskin:

Nantan OT has deemed 2020 the year of acceleration. That can mean a lot of things and I encourage each of us to take a moment and reflect on what that means to us. I've made a commitment to read more in 2020, and to turn off the radio and turn on more podcasts. I want to be more intentional about relationships, both with the Sky Q and with each of you. We have an amazing group of men here and I would like to accelerate relationships with all of you. Be grateful for all you have. Don't take it for granted and continue to grow yourself in every facet of life. If you aren't working towards something, then you're falling behind whether you admit it, or not.
