Absolutely gorgeous morning at Armada...66* and ripe for a beatdown. YHC rolled up a bit early to get some sandbag cleans in and sees 3 pax pre-rucking...strong work. Holy smokes, the pax keep rolling in...by the start, 23 pax had assembled for this fine Saturday morning. 5 new faces as FNGs included. Must admit, yhc got a little giddy...not two months ago we had typically 6-ish on a Saturday.
Lets get this rolling, little disclaimer, and time for warm-o-Rama. SSH 20x IC, Slow Ass Merkins 10x IC, Good Mornings 5 OYO (because doing GMs in cadence is heresy), 10 WMHs. YHC could see Torch was getting a bit restless so time to move on...
The THANG...
Contra Burpees to 10...then back down 1. If anyone is counting...that’s 20 burpees with 110 merkins right out the gate. Lots of MC and mid-wife noises here...crowd pleaser.
Mosey over to playground for plank walk...every pax grab some of the wall. plank walk around right till Q says stop, 3 irking...continue. Then plank walk back left, stopping for irkins Q calls.
20 lungs walks then sprint to base of Bridge to Nowhere. Burpee broadjump across; 50 LBCs, 50 J-Los, 50 Spicolis OYO. Plank Hold for the 6.
Mosey back across the bridge, bear crawl down the hill. Mosey to the base of Fort Granger hill. 50 LBCs, 50 J-Los, 50 Spicolis, then up the hill we go!!! Storming Fort Granger. Hold plank for the 6.
Crawl bear up 1 set of stairs, assemble the top for something YHC has had up his sleeve for a little while.
Using the boardwalk/path side rails...pax do elevated plank...then first in line bear crawls under the plank, and goes back to elevated plank at the end. Did 2 rounds of this...the bear Crawl was almost relief from the elevated plank. Lots of shoulders burning after this!!
Mosey back down the hill to the main part of the park...20 lunge walls, sprint to the playground wall again.

1. Gents...23 on a Saturday. YHC is giddy as a school girl. Not two months ago we had 6-ish maybe. Keep it going. Guys need this. 5 FNGs this morning...by my count...that’s 34 in 31 days. GREAT JOB!!!
2. Way to push yourselves this morning...there is no growth in the comfort zone. YHC isn’t the fastest, the strongest...but all be damned if I don’t try. It‘s mental gentlemen...your body is capable of so much more than what your mind tells you. For the FNGs who feel maybe this is tougher than they thought...you’re right...it is. It doesn’t get any easier though...you just get stronger and more resilient.
3. Congrats to Maytag and his family for getting their green cards. That is awesome and so grateful for that.
4. Keep lifting up Spicoli and his family...Spicoli is a strong and stubborn dude, he will beat this.
5. This group is getting so much larger, and I am grateful for that. Ive been at this for 4 years...the workout part is great, but it’s the other 2 Fs (fellowship and faith) that keep me coming back. 2ndF is the glue that holds this together...so remember that. I encourage everyone to attend the 2nd F gatherings when they can, stick around for coffeteeria on Saturday morning when they can, come to F3 Dads when they can, etc.
