Down.....

Date : Friday, February 21, 2020

AO: Firepit

PAX: 17 Total - Shoota (QiC), Delorean, Wilson, Yoda, The Count (F3 Chattanooga), Red Tee (F3 Chattanooga), Bartman, HackFace, Cornholio, Shocker, Oregon Trail, Braddock, Macaroni, Dukey, Chunks, Import and Noble Virus.

The mumble chatter came in hard before the day even began. Pax were celebrating an early start to the weekend and finally having a morning off after this week's grueling slate of Q's. The bear pokers came in full force. We even had Shocker talking trash...I don't think I realized that was even possible! Then the guilt trips started...lets just say our man Delorean doesn't like when the sky Q blesses us with some below freezing temps. The odds of him attending were equated to the expected windchill....13%. In the end 17 men made the difficult decision to show up this morning! I personally enjoyed the pre banter and I hope that contributed to men showing up. F3 Franklin should be fun, but also hard! We're here to accelerate, not stand still in life. That starts with feeding the King. Every Q wants to bring it, but today I felt obligated to really deliver.

As the PAX flowed in, the chatter got more persistent. Delorean locked himself in his car to ensure warmth. Noble Virus broke in and kept him company. It was total chaos as pax awaited the arrival of our two guests. Clock struck 5:45 and we were off....wait there they are. I keep talking....trying to buy them time....why are they digging in their truck...well nevermind....lets just go.

Disclaimer delivered - I'm just an amateur, push yourself but don't hurt yourself. That kind of thing.

No time for this warmup business, lets get to work.

Burpee Apocalypse - Get it done!

"Lets mosey" I yell, just as our visitor says his name, Red Tee, has to do with having two young girls and his love of playing golf. HackFace delivers the opening line, "Shoota likes young girls, too"! This would set the standard for the next 45 minutes...the MC was going to be SPECTACULAR.

Before we go though, QiC announces that every time I yell "down" do 3 burpees.

Sprint to the cave, thats what I am calling it going forward. The area surrounded by school. Balls to the wall - 10 reps

"Down"

Rinse and repeat

"Down"

Donkey Kicks to the wall - 20 reps

R&R

Walls sits in laney lou style - each pax counts to 10, while everyone holds position. This took longer than expected with 17 HIMS in the mix, some of yall need to learn how to count!

"Down"

Fast Mosey to the bus parking lot and circle up.

Mucho chesto using laney lou with some improvisation. PAX perform 5 reps each of Merkin, Werkins, Diamond Merkins, Staggered right and staggered left while the other pax perform required exercise; High Plank, Mountain Climbers, low plank, JLo's and hold Superman. There was ALOT of modifying going on here. This proves we need to do it again. I called "Down" a half dozen times throughout, mostly when I saw dudes laying down and taking a break, other times when Delorean mouthed off. Not sure which of those actually happened the most!

Mosey to the line and get some room.

Spartans! Sprint the long distance of the parking lot and perform exercise at end. Instead of walking back, we're going to jog. Keep the heart rate up!

Spartan #1 - Sprint down - 10 merkins and jog back

Spartan #2 - Sprint down - 10 merkins and jog back

Spartan #3 - Sprint down - 10 merkins and jog back

Spartan #4 - Sprint down - 15 one legged squats on each leg and jog back

Spartan #5 - Sprint down - 15 one legged squats on each leg and jog back

Spartan #6 - Sprint down - 15 one legged squats on each leg and jog back

Man there were some men PUSHING it today in the sprints. Awesome work and special Shoota shoutout to Import and Bartman who were really competing out front. Well done everyone!

Circle Up...oh wait "Down" "Down" what's that Delorean? oh okay, "Down" "Down"

You know how this ends. Captain Thors. 1 big boy situp to 4 american hammers. So many "Downs" we are nearly out of time. No breaks men, PUSH! We get through 8, but don't worry we would finish them in the post party. Speaking of we had 100% participation in the post party...I don't know if that has EVER happened. Way to ACCELERATE men!

CofT - I saw something the other day that made me stop and really think about what I am feeding myself. I told the story today in the circle of trust;

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Make sure you are feeding the right wolf, men. Set aside the evil, the sorrow, envy and arrogance that can so easily find its way into your soul. Ensure you are feeding the good wolf. There is a fight going on inside each of us, and I don't want a single man in our group to be losing.

Prayers - pray for Spicolli, CJ and Ryder as our brother continues his battle with cancer.

Updates - Get on slack

Join us for the 3rd F Tuesday at 5:30 am at Saint Philip Catholic Church and the 2nd F on Thursday, February 27th from 4pm - 6pm @ The Frothy Monkey in Franklin.
