FITNESS (the first F)

Started in 2011 in Charlotte, North Carolina, F3 has grown to more than 25 states and 1,300 scheduled workouts a week through the volunteer efforts of men whose lives have been changed by their involvement with the group.

Our bootcamp workouts are 45 minutes during the week and an hour on Saturdays. Our Thursday workout is a group run between 4-5 miles that lasts about 45-60 minutes.

F3 participants range in age from the 4-, 5- and 6-year-olds who participate in F3 Dads workouts each summer to men in their 60s and 70s — and even one in his 80s!

We welcome men of all fitness levels to our workouts and have no requirement for membership other than that you show up at the appointed time and place and follow what the workout leader (the “Q” in F3 lingo) does.

The F3 Credo is: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.

coming to join us for the first time?

Here are few tips;

  1. Arrive a couple of minutes early - we get started promptly and you don't want to miss out.

  2. Bring some gloves - the latex dipped gloves at any hardware store work great.  The concrete can start to hurt your hands after a while!

  3. Modify as necessary - everyone pushes themselves as hard as they can, but in the beginning you might have to rest between exercises...that's okay!

  4. Have fun - the workouts aren't necessarily easy, but we make them fun so try to enjoy what's going on around you and be proud of taking the first step to improving yourself!

Q-Calendars

What's a Q?  That's a question you might be asking yourself if you're new to F3.  A Q is defined as a leader who takes responsibility for the outcome. Here's a little more information to further explain.

WARPATH is our quarterly CSAUP (short for Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless). TORCH's twisted mind conceived it and a bunch of us knuckleheads shrugged and said "sure". WARPATH is approx 5 hours long and involves modest runs with workout breaks in between. Earn the chance to buy a WARPATH shirt to impress your friends and neighbors. In all seriousness, this is a well organized free event that challenges us to work together... and walk the path... the WARPATH.
